FLOWER CSA FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS A FLOWER CSA?
CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture” and is a type of farm-fresh subscription designed to support both it’s members and the farm. When you purchase a flower CSA, you are reserving a “share” of the flower harvests for that perspective season, and will receive a gorgeous bouquet of flowers once a week for the duration of the CSA you sign up for.
CSA members come together to support a farm by purchasing "shares" in advance, usually in the winter and early spring, before the growing season gets started. This GREATLY helps the farm afford the numerous and expensive costs at the beginning of each growing season, when there is normally very limited cash flow. Share members get to experience the true beauty of freshly harvested, high quality seasonal flowers that are hardly ever found in retail or grocery stores. Farm fresh flowers are so much more beautiful and are much higher quality than imported grocery store flowers!
Members also share the risks associated with farming and poor harvests due to unpredictable weather conditions, pests, natural disasters, etc. In return for their commitment, members receive a gorgeous share of what we harvest throughout the growing season. Our members participate in local agriculture and truly support a small, local business. By purchasing direct from our farm, members help protect farmland and open space, and help local family farmers like us continue to operate. Don’t worry, we have never failed to provide our CSA members with anything but the most beautiful and bountiful flowers!
What Are The Flower CSA Options?
In 2024 we are offering a May, June, August, and September CSA: our most abundant months of the year! You can sign up for one or all four.
Can I PURCHASE all the seasonal flower CSA’s?
YES! You may purchase all of them by adding them all to your shopping cart and checking out online.
WHAT Kind of flowers will I receive?
Each CSA includes seasonal flowers, which means you can expect to receive whatever is freshest and is the best quality that week off the farm. Generally in May, you can expect to receive mostly (if not all) ranunculus. In June, you can expect mixed bouquets with flowers such as peonies, campanula, snapdragons, baptisia, scented stock, and more! In August, you can expect a mix of seasonal flower including dahlias, zinnias, snapdragons, eucalyptus, and lisianthus. In September, you can expect dahlias. No matter what, you’ll get beautiful, farm-fresh blooms.
When can I Pick up my flowers?
Each CSA has multiple pick up locations options that you can choose. Each location has unique pick up days and designated pick up times. Once you sign up for a particular location, you will pick up from that same location every single week. For details, please read the CSA product descriptions. You may only pick up from the location you are signed up for.
When Are the CSA’s Available to purchase?
Each CSA is available to purchase in November of each year (for example, 2024 flower CSA’s will open for registration in November 2023). They sell out quickly - so be sure to purchase fast so you don’t miss out. Get on our email list and we’ll notify you when they launch.
I’M out of town/on vacation, CAN I GET MY BOUQUET ANOTHER Day or WEEK?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate re-scheduling of missed pick-ups due to the carefully planned nature of our CSA distribution. If you need to miss a pick up, we highly suggest you have a friend pick it up for you (friends love being gifted flowers!), or you will have to forfeit your share for that week. We strongly recommend sending a friend or family member to grab your flowers, it will brighten their entire week! Gifting flowers is THE BEST!
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
You can purchase a flower CSA share through our online shop (Here).
How do I gift a Flower CSA?
You can simply fill out the gift prompt during the checkout process, as you add a flower CSA to your online shopping cart. We will need the recipients email and phone number, but don’t worry, we won’t ruin the surprise! We will not email any notifications until about two weeks before the start of the flower CSA. You will receive a link to a printable gift notification PDF with your email receipt that you will need to give the gift recipient. The gift notification card may also be downloaded HERE.
I didn’t get any emails or notifications, now what?
Be sure you received an email receipt for your online purchase (otherwise, it may not have gone through). Check your spam and promotions tabs and do a thorough email search. We email reminder emails approximately 2 weeks before the CSA start date. You MUST add our email (Hello@trademarksflowers.com) to your primary inbox/address book/contacts list to avoid missing important emails. If you fail to do this, you may miss our emails and we will not be held responsible for information you did not read because it was filtered in your inbox. We generally will only send emails to notify you of the flower CSA or any sales/specials we are running. If you are not receiving emails, please e-mail us ASAP at Hello@trademarksflowers.com.
